One of his patrons was the richest men in Rome Crassus He was born in July 13 in 102 or 100 BC. He made us of popularist tactics manipulating people into joining his movement to an Empire. Before he could finally announce his new crown as Emperor he was brutally murdered by the members of senate on March 13, 44 BC in order to maintain the Republic that had been in place. The date of the most popular man in Rome's death is remembered by the ides of March. After his death his the grounds he laid down were followed through by his son Octavian who became the first emperor of Rome.
Caesar was a part of the first triumvirate formed with Caeser and Pompey. Due to the fact that Caesar lead the first Roman invasion of Britian he became so powerful that he completely eclipsed the power of his fellow patron Pompey. When his fellow patron Crassus died he just became more powerful. By the time of his assination he was the most powerful man in Rome and was in line to be emporer.
